Top 300 Movies of All Time: #263 The Last Of The Mohicans (1992)
The James Fennimore Cooper's classic novel "The Last of the Mohicans" has been adapted on many occasions, but never better than Michael Mann's 1992 version starring Daniel Day Lewis. Lewis more than ably fills the bill as Hawkeye and lends credibility to his portrayal.
Madeleine Stowe is one of the very best actresses of her generation and certainly the most under appreciated. We have very good performances from Russell Means, Wes Studi, and Steven Waddington.
The real star of this show though is Michael Mann's direction, a reasoned paced, beatifully shot. Lots of fun as dramas are concerned
