TOP 300 MOVIES OF ALL TIME: #225 " THE PAPER CHASE " (1973)

There isn't a lot to say about "The Paper Chase" except that from beginning to end it is as fundamentally sound a film as can be made. It isn't sensationalistic or melodramatic. It's solid film making. Timothy Bottoms is just trying to get through his first year at Harvard Law.

There is a noticeable role for Lindsay Wagner before she take on the part of "The Bionic Woman" on television.

This film, however is dominated by the Academy Award winning performance provided by John Houseman as Charles W Kingfield Jr., the overbearing law professor driving everyone nuts. Houseman was for the most part a producer both on stage and film and his turn in this film led to his being cast in film more regularly and to reprise his role in the TV show of the same name.
